On our last night, we were treated to a formal dinner, in a Harry Potter-esque long hall, with long tables, and a head table for all the elderly academic sorts. They did, however, sprinkle the professors throughout the assigned seating for us students, and I sat next to an interesting guy, Peter Heather, who teaches the Medieval History class. We didn't talk about history, but I did learn that his younger son is great at rugby, thanks to the constant rough-housing with his older brothers.
Then, of course, it was time to drink. It was fun to drink with our professors and people from the administration. Andy Venn, above, is one of my favorites.
As stated in greater detail in my previous post, British professors are cooler because they drink with you. (Recently, it dawned upon me that it's always been illegal for me to drink with professors, so maybe it's an unfair comparison.)
Fun times were had by all, including Sarah, who was celebrated her b-day. Happy birth, Sarah!
